Legislative Updates
April 6th – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
As the gentle embrace of spring unfolds around us, I find myself inspired by the beauty of change and renewal that this season brings. Just as nature undergoes transformation, shedding its winter cloak for vibrant blossoms, we too have the opportunity to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. It is with this sense of Joy and anticipation that I extend a warm invitation to you for our upcoming event “continuing the journey to identity” at the picturesque Clover Cliff Ranch.
Let’s come together to celebrate the season of renewal, explore the transformative “identity method” developed by Jamie Winship and delve into the legislative updated by our own Kansas legislators. Your presence will add to the richness of this experience, as we embrace the spirit of Spring and the endless possibilities it unfolds.
At Culture Shield, we are constantly seeking ways to deepen our understanding of ourselves and our connection with God.
Witnessing the impact of the Identity Lab experience firsthand has inspired us to bring us together again at Clover Cliff Ranch. With its central location, in the Flint Hills, we feel like it’s a great hub for Kansans to come together. Whether you were able to join us in January or not, this day will take you closer in your relationship with our Creator, your family, friends, and the culture.
This journey is about empowering you to explore and embrace the fullness of who you are meant to be.
Speaker Jeff Akin
Jeff has been involved in grassroots activism for four decades. Growing up in Texas and being named after his uncle, the author of the Texas Declaration of Independence, Collin McKinney, Collin Jeffrey Akin was prepared for politics from an early age. His accomplishments include helping to elect the first Republican from his district to the Texas Senate, the first Republican from his district to the Texas House, the first Republican County Judge, County Clerk, and County Treasurer to his county. Jeff has also been instrumental in defeating serval tax initiatives in his area and led a tax rollback effort that reduced the tax rate in his county. He founded several grassroots organizations; many are still going strong today.
Jeff has received many awards in recognition of his work with grassroots organizations. The most meaningful was when Texas State Sen. Bryan Hughes had a state flag flown over the state capitol in recognition of Jeff’s work with the Bowie County Patriots.
Jeff understands the challenges of winning elections with no money and few resources. But there are ways to overcome those challenges. Jeff’s goal was always to win elections through informing people about the issues, inspiring them to do something about those issues, and getting people involved in the process of changing the issues. It is time for change, but we must know what needs to be changed, how they can be changed, and then be the ones who bring about that change.
